Choice Oysters is a small New Hampshire oyster farm. We are locally owned and operated and our oysters are grown in the chilled waters of the Great Bay estuary.

Our partners involved in restoration and monitoring, outreach, and the general wellbeing of the Great Bay-Piscataqua River System.

As stewards of the Bay, all of our partners play a vital role to the success of our restoration projects. We appreciate their continued support in our efforts.

Restoration Funding: USDA/NRCS and TNC support our restoration activities, continued monitoring of these sites and the involvement of NH oyster farmers in the process. PREP Provides funding for our UNH laboratory work that includes natural oyster reefs, eelgrass, and algae "Eelgrass Distribution in the Great Bay Estuary and Piscataqua River fo" by Michael Routhier, Raymond Grizzle et al.

Restoration Activities: M&W Livestock and NHCCA provides clam and oyster shell each year. Riverside & Pickering stores and deploys our shell to the restoration areas

Permitting: DES, NHF&G, and NH Conservation Commissions are the permitting agencies for restoration sites

Public Outreach and Support: 7 Rivers to the Coast, PREP, NH Sea Grant, and The NH Shellfish Farmers Initiative support and provide information on these efforts and the Great Bay-Piscataqua River System.


Our oyster shell recycling trailer is located at 85 Adams Point Rd, Durham, NH at the top of the hill before entering the UNH Jackson Estuarine Laboratory parking lot We welcome shell drop-offs from Recreational Harvesters and the general public. The UNH NH Agricultural Experiment Station stores and loads our oyster shell that has been collected.
